The rules, in plain words.
By using MySheher — as a customer or as a worker — you agree to what follows.
Last updated 28 July 2026 · Version 2026-07-28
MySheher is a place where people find each other. We are not the employer, not the contractor, and not a party to the agreement you make. The job, the price and the outcome are between the customer and the worker.
1. Who runs MySheher
MySheher is a marketplace e-commerce entity within the meaning of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. Who can use MySheher
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must give true information. A profile with someone else's photo, a fake name or a number that is not yours will be removed.
- MySheher currently operates in Guwahati, Assam only.
3. What we do
We list workers, let customers search them, and carry the conversation between the two of you — the request, the messages, whether it was accepted, and whether it was finished. That is the whole of our role. We are not part of the agreement you reach inside it.
4. What we do not do
- We do not employ workers. Workers on MySheher are independent. They choose their own services, prices, hours and customers.
- We do not supervise, direct, train or inspect anyone's work.
- We do not guarantee that a worker will accept a job, arrive on time, or do the work well.
- We do not handle money. Payment is settled directly between customer and worker.
- We do not set or take a share of any price. There is no commission on MySheher.
- We hold no money, so we cannot issue refunds — see the cancellation and refund policy.
Because we are an intermediary, we are not liable for what workers or customers say or do on MySheher, provided we act on reports as described in section 12. We do not select, modify or initiate what a worker publishes about themselves, beyond checking that the profile looks genuine and that the rate falls inside the published range for that trade.
5. What our review does and does not mean
Every profile is verified by our team before it goes live. That check confirms the profile looks genuine — a real photo, plausible details, and a working WhatsApp number that the worker actually controls.
It is not a background check. We do not run police verification, criminal record checks, identity document checks, or skills testing. A verified badge means "this looks like a real person with a real number", nothing more.
Please use ordinary good sense — particularly when inviting a stranger into your home. Meet in a sensible way, tell someone where you are, and agree the price before work starts.
6. If you are a worker
- Set prices you are genuinely willing to honour.
- Only list services you can actually perform. Where a trade requires a licence or certification, hold it.
- Use a real, recent photo of yourself.
- Use a WhatsApp number that belongs to you.
- Turn off Available for work when you are busy, rather than leaving customers unanswered.
- Answer requests, one way or the other. Declining with a reason is fine; silence is not, and your reply rate is shown to you.
- Keep the conversation in MySheher until the job is accepted. It is what gives you a record of the work you have done.
- You are responsible for your own taxes, licences, tools, insurance and compliance with the law.
7. If you are a customer
- Agree the price and scope with the worker before the work starts.
- Pay what you agreed, when you agreed.
- Confirm when the work is finished, so the worker's record is accurate.
- Rate and review honestly. A review only helps the next person if it is true, and an untrue one can be removed.
- Do not use a worker's contact details for anything other than booking them.
8. Things nobody may do
- Impersonate another person, or list a number or photo that is not yours.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone.
- Scrape, copy or bulk-collect worker details from MySheher. Contact details are published so customers can book — not so anyone can harvest them.
- Post false ratings, or pressure anyone into leaving one.
- Use MySheher for anything unlawful.
We may remove any profile, without notice, for breaking these rules.
9. What must not be posted
The Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 require us to tell you plainly what may not be hosted or shared on MySheher. Do not post, in a profile, a rating, a report or a booking message, anything that:
- belongs to someone else and is not yours to use;
- is obscene, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy, or harmful to a child;
- is defamatory, insulting or harassing on the basis of religion, caste, gender, sexuality, or any other ground;
- is knowingly false, or misleads anyone about who you are, including impersonating another person;
- threatens India's unity, defence, security or sovereignty, friendly relations with other states, or public order;
- encourages gambling, money laundering, or any offence;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- contains a software virus or anything else designed to damage or disrupt;
- is an advertisement for something other than the services you are offering.
We remove such content when we find it or when it is reported, and we may terminate the profile that posted it. We will remind you of this once a year, and whenever these terms change materially, as the Rules require.
10. Ratings and content
What you write — your profile text, your rates, your reviews, your messages — stays yours. By posting it you allow us to display it where it belongs: a review on the profile it is about, a message to the person you sent it to. We may remove content that is abusive, false or unlawful.
A review can only be left by someone whose job was confirmed finished, and only one per job. We do not edit reviews and we do not remove one for being unflattering. We do remove reviews that are abusive, that name people who are not party to the job, or that we have good reason to believe are untrue.
11. Liability
Because we are not a party to the work, we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any worker or customer — including poor workmanship, damage, loss, injury, theft, delay or non-appearance. Any dispute over a job is between the customer and the worker.
MySheher is provided as it is. We are on an experimental launch and cannot promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing here limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Something went wrong
Tell us. We cannot settle a private dispute for you, but we can remove a profile that is behaving badly, and we take reports seriously — especially about safety.
Every profile has a Report this profile button — that is the quickest route, and it reaches the same person.
If someone is in danger, contact the police on 100 or 112 first. Then tell us.
If we do not resolve a complaint about your personal data to your satisfaction, you may take it to the Data Protection Board of India. Consumer complaints can go to the National Consumer Helpline on 1915, or to the consumer commission for your district.
13. Leaving
You can delete your profile at any time from inside the app, and it is erased immediately — photo included. The step-by-step is on the account deletion page. We may suspend or remove a profile that breaks these terms.
14. Changes
We will update these terms as MySheher grows. Material changes will be announced on the site, and the date at the top always shows when they last changed.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Guwahati, Assam have jurisdiction.
